2 Crossover PCBs for C-Note, C-Sharp DIY Speaker kit w/.22uF Caps + mount hrdwr.

Description

This is a pair of PC boards made using FR-4 fiberglass, screws, zip ties, foam cushion, spacers and 2 optional 0.22uF capacitors to add to the crossover components supplied with the Parts Express C-Note speaker kit. The board uses soldered connections for both the inputs and outputs assuring that the connections will not vibrate loose during speaker operation. I will also include 6 zip ties and some mounting cushion material to place under the components before soldering, providing a vibration free assembly.
The boards measure 2 15/16" x 4 15/16" allowing for the boards to be placed on the floor of the box enclosure with wiring conveniently located for the inputs on the rear of the board and outputs on the front of the board.
Research on the internet has technical individuals recommending the addition of a 0.22uF capacitor across the woofer inductor to "fix" some reproduction issues in the 3 kHz range. I am not necessarily recommending the inclusion of these parts but am making them available as a convenience to those who wish to include them in the crossover network.
The ground path for the woofer PCB trace was measured to be 20 milliohms, far below the woofer network reactance, resulting in negligible conductor loss for the PCB. The inductors are mounted in the preferred perpendicular orientation to eliminate any radiation or interference between the woofer and tweeter speaker networks. The final board operation
was verified
from 20 Htz to 20 KHtz for the original schematic without using the 0.22uF capacitor. The fourth photo is actually from the first generation board; the second generation enlarged the input and output connection holes for easier assembly and combined the dual input grounding system since it offered very little performance improvement.
