Description
You are bidding on a used Sirius S50 receiver and used battery. The receiver also comes with:
-New home dock no cables
-Used vehicle dock no cables
The executive dock shown in the photo where the unit is updating is not included.
You'll need the associated power adapter (cable) and antenna to use with the home or vehicle docks.
I revised the original listing to reduce the price by removing extra components and making the shipping a lower cost.
I've had this receiver for about 8 months. It's currently active, not a free trial or subscription that I own. I used it a few months back but not recently.
It receives most channels up to # 184.
The following channels are
not
received: 11, 77, 79, 86-87, 92-94, 98, 102-104, 106-107, 113, 121, 123, 133-145, 149-155, 159-161, 164-165, 167-168, 171, 172, 175 - 183.
The unit is in decent physical condition with a few minor scratches and one deeper scratch on the screen.
I have no idea how long it will stay active. I tested it today for about 20 minutes to take the photos and it remained active and updated.
It may stay active for 5 minutes, days, months, I simply don't know.
I believe a firmware update is needed to make it work in an executive dock, but the firmware update is not available on the internet any longer.
Also I don't believe the software supports the S50 any longer, it requires a very old Windows version. It's best not to use an executive dock and not to try to connect it to a computer using the software. Neither the software update or use of the executive dock is needed to enjoy this unit.
At the start of testing it did the normal channel update, then it did a subscription update. It continued to receive all the channels after the subscription update.
When I purchased it, the sell claimed it was a lifetime unit, but I have no way of confirming this and don't want to risk having the service cancelled by calling Sirius to ask.
Sold as-is. No warranty and no returns.
No warranty as far as how long it will stay active. Assume you will need to add a subscription at some time.
If it stays active, you got lucky. Should it stay active, don't call Sirius to transfer the service, they'll likely cut it off.
Also don't do a factory reset. Thank you.
