    ANTIQUE DETROIT MICHIGAN CENTRAL STATION DEPOT CLOCK FACE CAST IRON ARCHITECTURE TRIANGLE SECTION #2
    CLARIFICATION EXPLANATION OF HOW I ACQUIRED ARTIFACTS FROM THE M.C.R.R. STATION :
    This is a generic description for all of the antique artifacts and architectural pieces that I have been offering for sell for the last 31 years that were originally from Detroit's last remaining {
    1912 Historic Michigan Central Train Station
    }. There have been a few questions regarding how these pieces were acquired so here is the direct short response.  31 years ago in 1990 I had purchased the salvage rites for the removal of the last remaining artifacts from the then owner of the building. Prior to conducting any transactions with the owner - the building had sat vacant for a short while. During the transition of the vacant property from the previous private owner to the new owner during 1989 to 1990 the street thieves had broken into the building and began stealing most of all the solid brass and bronze light fixtures for scrap metal value.  Once the brass and bronze was gone they began to steal all of the cast iron.  I had informed the private owner as to what was happening and a deal was agreed upon to salvage what remained, this ornate cast iron clock face section was one of those artifacts.
    STOP
    :  Any questions or comments related to the current restoration of the station or that I should donate what I purchased and preserved all these years will not be responded to. I had reached out to the company two years ago and they declined to acquire several artifacts of which they expressed an interest in because they wanted them for free. When I began my antique architectural salvage business over 40 years ago they didn't donate me a brand new Ford Truck. 31 years ago when the salvage deal began with the private owner and myself  I salvaged the best that I could at that time under horrific conditions and situations within the building. Had I not  purchased, salvage, remove, preserve, and store away what I acquired none of these artifacts would have survived to be available today. They would have been melted down in multiple scrap yards across Detroit. Please don't point your finger and make wrongful accusations when you don't know what happened 31 years ago. Thank you for understanding
    PICTURE INFORMATION
    { The Interior Pictures Of The Station Are Only For Reference Purposes To Authenticate The Origin Of This Artifact  } - It shows how the clock appeared when I began to salvage what remained in 1990. The black & white photo shows how it appeared in 1912 }
    ONLY SECTION OF THIS SHAPE
    : I do have my very last 2 fragment sections currently listed for sale. This one is the {
    Very
    Ornate Triangle Shaded
    } piece which was located at the very bottom of the clock face on the left and right side directly next to the numbers
    4
    &
    8
    on the face dial.
    ITEM DESCRIPTION :
    Hello and thank you for expressing an interest in my auction. I am offering for your consideration the following.  Here is my "
    2nd
    &
    Very Last
    " -  {
    Triangle Shaped
    } -  "
    Very Attractive
    &
    Extremely Scarce One Of A Kind - Last Triangle Shaped Section
    " original 1912 {
    Clock Face Section
    From The Original Main Lobby Clock Over The Ticket Window Booth
    } from
    Detroit's Historic 1912 Michigan Central Station
    . This is the last "
    Clock Face Section
    " in this shape available. Despite only being a section it is still an "
    Extremely Exceptional Artifact
    " of historic Detroit's Iconic History. The station had only one "
    Interior
    " clock, the other Roman Numeral clock face that some street thief returned was the "
    Exterior
    " clock that was installed over the public taxi pick area.  Because the street thieves had begun stealing the cast iron as I explained this clock was damaged as seen in the pictures I took, but still very salvageable and would make a great interior decorator accent display.  Despite being only a fragment section this is an "
    Outstanding Artifact
    " waiting for that right person who has the creative insight to repurpose it into a one of a kind historic display.  This clock is very well documented in multiple photographs in many train magazines as well as "
    Detroit's Historic Burton Collection
    " in the Main Public Library.  I have long since sold the other smaller pieces to private collectors of Historic Detroit Artifacts. I am now offering this "
    Very Last One Of A Kind
    " medium size "
    Triangle Shaped
    " section because it is an exceptional artifact well worth preserving as an interior decor wall hanger. This artifact is being - {
    Sold As Is
    -
    As Salvaged
    } 31 years ago.
    ITEM CONDITION :
    The condition of this clock face section is "
    Outstandingly Exceptional
    " and worthy of any serious personal collection of Antique Detroit Historic Artifacts or for a collector of Historic Railroad Memorabilia . This clock section is made of solid cast iron with an electroplated brass finish.  This piece was very dark brown and has been cleaned and lightly polished which still displays most all of the brass finish from 1912. It now has a very attractive bright honey amber brass / copper tone.  The back is flat ready to mount or hang on a wall either horizontally or vertically, I believe it would display best if hung vertically, thus making it's appearance architecturally balanced & correct.  Both ends of this section are broken which is how I found it laying on the roof of the ticket booth area. - However the breaks "
    Do Not
    " distract from the over all integrity of such a nice piece, it actually adds to the character.  Many people have a desired appreciation for such artifacts despite the condition, hopefully this will go to a good home like so many of my other artifacts from the Old Train Station has over the years. - 31 years ago I did the very best I could to salvage and preserve what everybody else was unknowingly neglecting. Now 3 decades later what everybody thought had gone to the scrap yards and melted down is here  readily available for your  consideration. This piece measures as follows - -
    24 -1/2
    inches tall,
    20
    inches wide on the very bottom,  it is cast
    1/2
    to
    1
    inches thick, and the raised relief of the ornate floral foliage cluster measure
    1/2
    to
    3/4
    inches thick, the pattern varies due to design.  The weight is perfect for wall hanging or mounting,  I would guesstimate this piece weighs roughly
    25
    to
    28
    pounds.  There really isn't anything else left to say that the posted pictures and the detailed description has provided for you.  - Simply Put - This is a great once in a life time opportunity to acquire a Great Historic Artifact from Detroit's Last Remaining Historic Train Station. -  Truly a great artifact to display in your home or office to symbolize the "
    Once Grand Treasured Architecture Detroit Use To Proudly Build
    " - Only if you are seriously interested and require more pictures please feel free to email me and I will do my best to accommodate you. Thank You.
    Remember this auction has the "
    Best Offer
    " option, don't hesitate to use it if you have an interest that's why it's there.
    REGARDING PICTURES :
    When viewing the posted pictures they may seem a little grainy or fuzzy & over or under exposed. This is because I am using an older model Sony camera that still uses floppy disks.
