Description
Vietnam war era army military veteran vintage lighter cover Ca Mau bronze/gold color/finishThe Vietnam War was the second longest in U.S. history.
The Americans failed to achieve a military victory and the Republic of South Vietnam whom the Americans were fighter for, was finally taken over by the North Vietnam army.
As with all wars, nobody wins. American loss tens of thousands of lives in this war with a few hundred thousand more injured in combat. The casualties for Vietnamese people (military and civilians) were also very heavy with numbers reaching to the hundreds of thousands.
It remains a very controversial topic that continues to affect military and political decisions until today.
In front of the lighter is inscribed, "Ca Mau 73-74".
Ca Mau was a Viet Cong stronghold during the Vietnam war.
Also in front of the lighter is engraved, a Mickey Mouse lookalike with a speech bubble saying "F*ck you Red Baron". Unique and bold.
On the back of the lighter, these words were inscribed, "There is nothing so sweet as the smell of death in the morning". Very macabre.
There are light scratches on the cover as expected from normal wear and tear. The hinge of the cover works well and the lighter cover lid closes nicely.
This cover will fit a zippo style lighter insert as shown in the photos. The lighter mechanism in the photos are for display purposes only and is not included in the sale of this item.
This item for sale is a replica and it is gold/bronze in colour. This makes a nice collection.
