Vintage Antique 1920's 1930's Electronic Heating Thermostat Temperature Control

NOS 1920's / 1930's Thermostatic Mechanical Temperature Controller
I find no evidence that this was ever used.  4 3/4" x 1 7/8" Bakelite base.  Nickel plated hardware.  The thumbwheels rotate, and are numbered from 40 to 90.  Contacts on one end.  I believe the horseshoes are magnets.
The pictures show the condition well.  I've tried to picture everything, contact me if I missed anything.
